Continuation of the last post, I would like to add the fifth objective to the initiative to pave the path for a more just and more prosperous society:
1. We start with our family. We declare each of our families as free from corruption: we don’t do corruption, we don’t participate in corrupt acts, we say it loud when we see corruption. We disavow all forms of corruption in the society. Be it small like giving less in weight when we sell and buy goods or be it big like to paying bribery to officials and political leaders.
2. We educate our family members about the power of participation in a democratic society: make our voice heard at the grass root level starting at masjeed committee, school committee, Village committee, city and town counselors, members, commissioners, chairmans, mayors, etc.
3. We train our family members to love others as well as forgive others in the society. A small act of good deed will create a snowball effect and cause the avalanche of good deed to flow in the society. And forgiving others will make us better human and reduce tension in our every day life.
4. We stand for justice, be it at individual level or at family level. Even if it may go against me, my family or my community.
5. Finally, we all strive to be better human with high morality and high ethics. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes but we all can strive to be better.
So, how would we know that we are making progress and realizing the benefits of it. For that, each of these objectives would have to be detailed out and the outcome would need to be shown in a quantifiable and in a measurable way. I would lay that out for each of the objectives soon, however, until that detail is laid out, here’s my brief thought on measuring the outcome of the initiative both at individual and family levels:
People would not approach me or my family members with illegal or corrupt proposals. Even if they may approach with such proposals, we would not only turn that down but would also convey this message to that person why we are not taking part in that corruption or injustice. When people see me or my family members around, they would not just expect no corruption or injustice from us but also they would feel safe from all kind of corruption, injustice and humiliation from others as we would be the persons who would stand against any form of injustice- be it protecting them through force or through explicit verbal support and standing for the juatice.

Create a more just family to create a more just society and country
Last Friday night, in a get together at a friend’s house, some of us were discussing about the situation in Bangladesh, which we do almost every time we meet, and were brainstorming some ideas on how do we instigate our countryman to change the core of the society to achieve stable democracy and eradicate corruption. There were suggestions on changing the current constitution of Bangladesh to create a strong foundation for a just society and to achieve political stability. The constitution of the ISA is one such example where the core of the constitution makes the government structure such that no one branch of the government can overpower others. This is known as “The balance of power” and done through balancing the three branches of the government: Legislative branch, Executive branch, and Judicial branch. It also encoded “The bill of rights” that ensures the unalienable rights of the citizens. Such rights include: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of movement, right to receive justice, freedom to bare arms, etc. Those gave the American society a foundational base towards a just society and a stable political structure. Bangladesh needs such bill of rights for sure. However, I argue that those political structures and bill of rights, though are absolutely needed for a just society, can not guarantee a just society without having a society of educated, ethical and moral human being. The prove lies in the USA itself. This constitution is here since 1779 and we had slavery, segregation, and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous native population all through 1962. I strongly believe that we need a over the top principles and a pragmatic constitution but that can’t be dropped off to a nation. The nation has to pave the path to get that constitution and then make it sustainable. I believe we can start at the micro level to pave that path for a more just and more prosperous society:
We start with our family. We declare each of our families as free from corruption: we don’t do corruption, we don’t participate in corrupt acts, we say it loud when we see corruption. We disavow all forms of corruption in the society. Be it small like giving less in weight when we sell and buy goods or be it big like to paying bribery to officials and political leaders.
We educate our family members about the power of participation in a democratic society: make our voice heard at the grass root level staring at masjeed committee, school committee, Village committee, city and town counselors, members, commissioners, chairmans, mayors, etc.
We train our family to love others as well as forgive others in the society. A small act of good deed will create a snowball effect and cause the avalanche of good deed to flow in the society. And forgiving others will make us better human and reduce tension in our every day life.
Finally, we all strive to be better human with high morality and high ethics. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes but we all can strive to be better.
Once we have strong family of individuals with a high morality, we would be able to use that as a launch pad to reach for the top level change. It then just won’t stimulate the change in the top but also would create such enormous pressure to the political structure, like the water pressure in a dam when it reaches to threshold, that it will break us free from the dismal corrupt societal and political structure that we currently have. This wouldn’t happen overnight. This may take years to achieve but this would be sustainable and long term. In the meantime we prepare ourself with policy changes through a better constitution. We had seen the exuberance of democratic victory in 1990 which essentially gave us just few “democratic elections”. We don’t need to die for another quick victory. We can shoot for better.

- Disclaimer: I believe the current form of Democracy is not fully capable to solve the problem of Bangladesh or country like that but at this moment, the democratic political structure is much better suited than any other available options that we see around us, until a better structure is formed.

The Great Truths of Life
1. Respect everyone with whom you work, live, and meet unexpectedly. Everyone deserves a minimum level of respect as a fellow human, even though you may feel otherwise due to their action.
2. Don't exaggerate the events of suffering that you're going through right now. Eventually, you will laugh at it at a later time on how you cried on spilled milk.
3. Keep in mind: what you are enjoying today and feel most excited with, will give you a sense of sorrow when you'll look back down the line of your life. The opposite is true as well.
4. Help others without setting any expectations in return for your generosity. Life is not a business where you will calculate your every step by looking into, for instance, Return on Investment (ROI). You are guaranteed to get the return, eventually, in a multiplied number but from some other unrelated and unexpected sources.
5. Use time scale to reflect upon an event of life. What seems mountainous (too big to handle) on a shorter timescale could be proven as a tiny bump on the road of your journey.
6. Never stop dreaming about your future. Everything else depends on some other factors, in one way or another, that you can not control on your own.
7. Try hard until you exhaust all of your options; and remember, life is too short to run out of options.
8. Set incremental goals for your life and give your best effort towards reaching them - one at a time. You won't have grievances later on for not giving your best shot at it.
9. Admit this: success and failure are not in your hand and certainly are not in a direct proportion to your efforts. There are infinite number of factors in this world that will define the success or failure of the effort you put forth, but be sure that your effort will take you there where not enough people have reached
10. Don't settle on the latest final discoveries on any aspect of life; there would be another final discovery very soon which would shake the older one, at least, if not nullifying that

Scientists should learn from the lesson of the History
Absolute power brings absolute corruptness and shameless hypocrisy. It then becomes an absolute necessity to bring back the balance in power to counter that corruptness. Muslims and Arab had seen this during and after the golden age of Arab civilization, Europe had seen the autocracy in the pre-renaissance time and now the climate scientists are seeing the revolt against their supposedly true facts. Like Newton's fist law of motion, there probably is a "law of emotion" (trying to be funny 😜) that always kicks in when the human are pushed to the corner and touches the wall and then they revolt. World is warming up, that's undeniably true; the pollution is at its dangerous level, no sane person can deny that. But don't claim that we, the human, alone are causing the globe to warming up and we alone can cool it down. Let's be modest on our ability to change the course of the universe. Instead, let's put our primary focus on reducing the pollution which is causing a great harm in every human lives. Let's also do everything humanely possible to reduce the negative impacts of all the scientific inventions: combustion engine, fossil fuel, plastic, harmful waves, etc. The world will be so much better if we honestly pursue that.

Right and Wrong in absolute and relative terms
The statue of lady justice, called by one group and the statue of Greek goddess Themis, called by other group have stirred up the nation of both aisles. No amount of explanation or justification would bring both groups to agree on it. This is true that this statue is used as the symbol of justice around the world and this is also a undeniably truth that this is the statue of a Greek goddess. "Lady justice" group isn't concerned about this single statue but is worried to accept the demand to remove it as they think that this would be marked as the beginning of the end of openness in our country. The "goddess Themis" group isn't concerned that keeping this would destroy the religion in the country but worried that allowing it will create a new acceptance to spread the liberals agenda in all swath of our life.
Who is right and who is wrong.
Both groups are right in one stance and wrong in the other. You can't install anything at anywhere without appreciating the feelings of mass people and similarly you can't remove everything from everywhere because we aren't aware of them whatsoever. Do all of us know that we use so many names of Greek goddess without even recognizing them? Do we know that some name of calendar months, the symbols of most of the medical college and hospitals, etc. bear the symbol of Greek mythological god or goddess? If we dig more, we will find more and more influences of other cultures and religions in our day to day life.
Is that all right or all wrong? Right and wrong comes with two flavors: absolute and relative. How about forming our principles of life based on absolute right and absolute wrong however, taking our daily actions based on relatively right and relatively wrong. To judge others, can't we use the relative sense of right and wrong and use absolute right and wrong while judging our own souls?
There will be plurality of faith, plurality of believe, and plurality of everything in our life. Hoping that all of a sudden we would start believing in one God, practicing one religion, and following one culture are absolutely a pipe dream. We know that never happened in the entire history of human race. And no one can claim that this would happen until the end of the human race. So, why can't we just learn to live with each other, side by side?
